MS Workouts
Helping People Living with MS Keep Moving Since 2017
Your MS is Personal. Your Mobility Plan Should Be Too.™
Whether your goal is to get up from a chair more easily, improve or maintain your walking ability, or build strength for everyday activities, MS Workouts helps you work toward what matters to you.
With our MS-specific Steadypace™ strenght-training technique, experienced instructors, including team members who live with MS themselves, and a Personalized Success Map™ created around your abilities, you'll have support that's relevant to your everyday life.
Your MS Workouts Journey Begins with Your Personalized Success Map™
Your Personalized Success Map™ is more than an exercise schedule. It's the result of Kathy, our in-house PT, that also lives with MS, taking the time to understand you, your MS symptoms, your abilities, and what you want to accomplish before recommending exercises specifically for you.
To create your Personalized Success Map™, you'll complete an in-depth assessment about your MS symptoms, abilities, daily activities, and personal goals, and send us a video of you walking and doing transfers.

Exercise Guidance That Understands Your MS, Not Just Your Muscles.
When you live with MS, what works for someone else may not work for you. At MS Workouts, three members of our team live with MS themselves. And your Personalized Success Map™ is created by Kathy Bolstorff, MSPT, a physical therapist who understands MS both professionally and personally.

Build Strength to Support the Activities That Matter to You
When MS makes standing, walking, transferring, or everyday tasks more challenging, maintaining muscle strength can make a meaningful difference.
Steadypace™ is our MS-specific strength-training technique, using slow, controlled movements and one time-based set per exercise. Rather than relying on multiple sets of fast repetitions, we focus on appropriately challenging your muscles while respecting your abilities, fatigue, and need for recovery.
In this short video, Jeff explains the Exhaust Range, an important part of our Steadypace™ Strength Training technique.
During each exercise, a timer helps you recognize when you're approaching the final portion of your 90-second set, when muscular fatigue typically becomes more noticeable.
Understanding the Exhaust Range helps you evaluate your effort and choose an appropriate resistance level while maintaining proper form.
The goal isn't to push yourself beyond your limits. It's to challenge your muscles appropriately, maintain good form, and develop strength that can support your everyday activities.
What Would You Like to Keep Doing, or Do More Easily?
Getting up from your favorite chair. Walking through the grocery store. Enjoying time outdoors with family and friends.
Everyone living with MS has different abilities and priorities. At MS Workouts, we begin by learning what matters to you, then help you explore physical activities appropriate for your abilities, with guidance from experienced professionals who understand MS.

Frequently Asked Questions
Living with MS brings challenges that are different for each person.
You may be wondering whether guided physical activity is possible with your mobility limitations, how to manage fatigue, or whether MS Workouts is right for you.
We're here to help you find answers.
What makes MS Workouts different from other exercise programs for people living with MS?
Since 2017, MS Workouts has been helping people living with multiple sclerosis keep moving. Over the years, thousands of people have joined our programs, and we've learned that exercising with MS requires more than following a collection of workout videos.
What makes MS Workouts different is the combination of professional expertise, firsthand experience living with MS, personalized exercise guidance, and a community that understands the challenges you face.
Our team includes Kathy Bolstorff, MSPT, a practicing physical therapist with more than 25 years of experience in neurological rehabilitation who also lives with MS. Jacqueline Vandergaag brings her own experience living with MS to the community, while our instructors, including Holly Wallace, Jen Wade, and Michelle Silva, contribute their expertise in strength training, aerobic exercise, yoga, and adapted movement.
Our work also includes a collaboration with the wellness team at Mount Sinai in New York City, with whom we developed Seated Aerobics specifically for people living with MS.
But perhaps our most important difference is your Personalized Success Map™. Kathy reviews your detailed assessment and prepares an individual exercise schedule that considers your mobility, fatigue, everyday responsibilities, existing physical activities, and recovery needs.
You'll also receive your Success Map™ by email every Monday morning, helping you find your recommended exercises throughout the week.
Together with our Steadypace™ strength training, live classes, on-demand replays, educational sessions, and supportive community, this creates an exercise experience built around your life, rather than expecting you to adapt your life to a predetermined program.
Your MS is Personal. Your Mobility Plan Should Be Too™
I have difficulty walking, standing, or even getting out of a chair. Can MS Workouts help me stay active?
Yes, exercise may still be possible, even when standing or walking is difficult.
MS Workouts offers seated strength training, seated aerobics, chair yoga, and other exercises that can be adapted to different mobility levels.
You don't have to be able to stand or walk independently to participate in many of our classes.
What matters is finding exercises that are appropriate for your current abilities.
That's why we offer a Personalized Success Map™, prepared by physical therapist Kathy Bolstorff, MSPT, to help guide your exercise program.
I'm already exhausted most days. Can physical activity help me stay active?
Fatigue is one of the most common challenges people living with MS experience, and we understand that some days even everyday activities can require considerable effort.
Research suggests that appropriately adapted exercise can help some people with MS improve fitness and manage fatigue over time. But the amount and intensity of exercise matter.
At MS Workouts, we encourage you to exercise within your abilities, take breaks when needed, and allow adequate recovery between strength training sessions.
Your exercise program should work with your current capacity, not demand more than you can safely manage.
I've never exercised regularly. How will I know where to begin?
You don't have to figure everything out on your own.
When you join MS Workouts, you'll complete a detailed assessment covering your physical abilities, MS-related challenges, exercise experience, and what you'd like exercise to help you accomplish.
We also consider your everyday life, including your work schedule, other physical activities you might already enjoy, and the time you have available for exercise.
Physical therapist Kathy Bolstorff, MSPT, reviews your assessment and prepares your Personalized Success Map™, recommending exercises and a weekly schedule that takes your individual circumstances into account.
And we don't leave you wondering what to do next. Every Monday morning, you'll receive an email reminder with your Personalized Success Map™, making it easier to find your recommended exercises and follow your schedule.
Instead of trying to choose from dozens of workouts on your own, you'll have a personalized roadmap designed around your abilities, activities, and daily life.
What is the difference between live classes, replays, and on-demand workouts at MS Workouts?
MS Workouts offers three ways to exercise, allowing you to participate in the activities recommended in your Personalized Success Map™.
Live Classes: Exercise alongside our instructors and fellow members during scheduled sessions, including Seated Strength, Standing Strength, Seated Aerobics, and Chair Yoga. Our live strength training sessions provide a full-body workout, including additional exercises that address challenges such as foot drop.
Live Class Replays: If you miss a live class, you can watch its recording later. You'll benefit from the instructor's explanations and demonstrations, along with the experience of the original session.
Professionally Produced On-Demand Workouts: Our on-demand strength training videos feature the same core exercises taught in our live strength classes. They're professionally recorded using three cameras, providing clear views of the exercises so you can better understand positioning, technique, and how to perform them correctly.
In addition, every Steadypace™ strength training exercise has its own instructional tutorial, demonstrating proper technique, resistance band setup, and important details to help you understand the exercise before performing it.
You can pause the videos whenever you need a break and resume when you're ready. Our on-demand library also includes additional exercise sequences addressing specific MS-related challenges.
Your Personalized Success Map™, prepared by Kathy Bolstorff, MSPT, considers your abilities, daily schedule, and other activities when recommending your weekly exercise program. Whether you participate live, watch a replay, or use our professionally recorded workouts, you'll know which exercises to focus on.
Do I need special equipment to participate in MS Workouts?
You don't need an expensive home gym or specialized equipment to participate in MS Workouts.
For many of our classes, including Seated Aerobics and Chair Yoga, you may only need a sturdy chair or items you already have at home.
Our Steadypace™ strength training program uses Multiloop TheraBand resistance bands. Your initial resistance band is provided with membership, so you'll have what you need to begin strength training.
As you progress, you may need additional resistance bands. These are inexpensive and can be purchased through retailers such as Amazon.
We also provide a purchasing link on our website store.
Our goal is to help you focus on exercising, not on buying expensive equipment.
How does MS Workouts help me find my recommended exercises and make the most of my membership?
From the moment you join MS Workouts, we help you become familiar with our website and app, find your recommended exercises, and enjoy everything your membership has to offer.
If you're familiar with Netflix, you'll recognize how MS Workouts is organized.
Our website and app display different categories in rows. Within each row, you'll find thumbnails representing collections of workouts, such as Seated Strength Training, Standing Strength Training, Chair Yoga, or exercises for foot drop. Select a collection, and you'll see the individual exercise videos available within it.
Your Personalized Success Map™ makes finding your exercises even easier. Kathy identifies the specific row and collection thumbnail where you'll find your recommended workouts, so you'll know exactly where to go.
You'll also receive a series of onboarding emails that introduce you to the platform, explain how to access your membership benefits, and help you become familiar with the different features available to you.
Every month, we offer a dedicated Q&A session to help members explore the website and app, find their recommended exercises, and discover more ways to enjoy their membership.
And we're always happy to help! You can reach us at team@msworkouts.com. When additional personal assistance would be useful, we can arrange a conversation with Felipe to walk you through the platform.
We want you to spend less time looking for exercises and more time working toward what matters most to you, whether that's maintaining your strength, walking more comfortably, or continuing to enjoy the everyday activities you love.
What else does MS Workouts offer to help me with the everyday challenges of living with MS?
Your MS Workouts membership also includes educational sessions, practical demonstrations, and opportunities to connect with other people living with MS.
Learn practical techniques you can use in everyday life. During our educational Q&A sessions, physical therapist Kathy Bolstorff, MSPT, and invited specialists explore topics that complement your physical activity program.
For example, Kathy has demonstrated stretching techniques for spasticity, including ways a partner can assist.
Other sessions have explored vision changes, mobility concerns, and practical adaptations for daily activities. You'll also have opportunities to ask questions during these sessions or submit them in advance.
Connect with people who understand your experiences. Every Friday, our Community Chat brings members together to exchange ideas, share personal experiences, discuss challenges, and celebrate meaningful accomplishments.
You'll have many opportunities to learn how others living with MS approach everyday challenges, discover practical ideas you may find useful, and share experiences with people who understand what you're going through.
I prefer not to commit to a membership. Can I still enjoy the benefits of MS Workouts?
Absolutely! We understand that a recurring membership isn't everyone's preferred choice, especially when you have other commitments and need flexibility.
That's why we offer the MS Workouts Live 5-Class Pass, giving you access to two of our most popular live programs without a recurring subscription.
Join Jen for Seated Aerobics, developed in collaboration with the wellness team at Mount Sinai in New York City specifically for people living with MS. These classes help you work on cardiovascular fitness, endurance, and coordination while seated, particularly valuable when standing for extended periods or maintaining balance can be challenging.
Or join Michelle for Chair Yoga, where you'll explore ways to maintain flexibility, ease muscle tension, improve body awareness, and enjoy the benefits of breathing and relaxation techniques, all from the support of a chair.
For a one-time payment of only $59, you receive five live classes to use within 60 days.
Choose Seated Aerobics, Chair Yoga, or any combination of both, according to your interests and availability.
You'll also experience the warmth of our instructors and the opportunity to participate alongside others who understand what it's like to live with MS.
No recurring payments. No membership required. Just five opportunities to participate in classes designed with your needs in mind.
I live outside the United States. Will the time difference make it difficult for me to take advantage of all MS Workouts offers?
Absolutely not!
Living in a different time zone shouldn't prevent you from working toward better mobility, maintaining strength, or enjoying the everyday activities that matter to you.
In addition to our on-demand workouts and class replays, which you can access anytime, wherever you live, we make an effort to schedule live classes at different times of the day so our members in Europe and other parts of the world can participate as well.
Your Personalized Success Map™ is also individually prepared around your abilities, goals, and daily activities, helping you make the most of MS Workouts wherever you call home.
